December 4, 1973

Meeting called to order at 8:15 p.m. with Oscar Flonnes, Calvin Schwenzfeier and Phil Tetzner present. Larry Roy absent. Minutes of Nov. 6,  1973 meeting were read and upon motion accepted as read.

Jake Heinlein appeared requesting approval for zoning ordinance for County as it is at present. Town Board gave approval with written approval to be given to zoning administration. Discussion concerning textors addition in 12-48-5. It was decided to change to a new zoning district from an agricultural district requiring 5 acres to a agricultural district with 2 acre lots with 200′ frontage. Motion made and second to make this change. A letter should be written to Jake Heinlein to this effect by Jan. 10th, 1974. Let Jake know our Feb. meeting date.

Motion made and second to put the State, County, Schools, and Vocational School levys the tax roll.

Meeting Minutes November 6, 1973

November 6, 1973

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. with all board members and clerk present. Minutes of Oct. 2, 1973 meeting were read and upon motion accepted as read.

Discussion was held concerning Virgil Brevak property in Section 12-48-5 as to zoning change.

Discussion was held concerning Bill Bromberg property in Section 4-48-5 as to town helping building road or furnishing culverts at cost and doing the work.

There was discussion concerning blacktopping Church Corner Road.

Decided to pay Dalcon Construction Company $1300.00 as the work was completed.

Decided to pay for McKenzie plow except for a hitch worth $225.00 we didn’t receive.

Meeting called to order at 7: 30 p.m. with all Board members and clerk present. Minutes of Sept. 4 and Sept. 22 meeting were read and upon motion accepted as read.

Motion made and second to buy paint and a piece of siding and let Levi Faulkner paint and fix the West side of Town Hall.

Motion made and second to get McKenzie Supply Equip. Inc. representative here concerning plow.

Motion and second to put 200 yards crushed gravel in stockpile.

Motion made and second to give Allen Appel and Orville Jackson permission to build on forestry zoned lands they own.

Meeting Minutes September 22, 1973

September 22, 1973
Special Town Meeting

Meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman Calvin Schwenzfeier with approximately 65 Town of Washburn people present. Purpose of the meeting (sanitary landfill problem) was stated with three proposals by the Town Board given, going into more detail as to costs and other problems. Meeting was then given over to questions.

Much discussion followed with these ideas presented and agreed upon informally:

1. Nobody present wanted a sanitary landfill on the City of Washburn owned site on Maple Hill. (NE-NW Sec. 34-49-5.)

2. Nobody present objected to a sanitary landfill on the Town of Washburn owned site. (SE-SW Sec. 29-49-5.)

3. Nobody present seemed to want to form a Corporation with the City of Washburn to form a joint sanitary landfill.

4. Suggestion that the Town Board get in touch with The Division of Local Affairs and Development for any help available.

Motion made by Albert Zifko and second by Glenn Cook to offer to lease the City of Washburn a site on the town owned “40” as per our first proposal (Dec 1972), build them an all weather road to the site, but leave the Town of Washburn free to make a decision of participation or not. Ayes – All   Noes – None.

Meeting Minutes September 4, 1973

September 4, 1973

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. with all Board members and clerk present Also Leland Harvey was present. Minutes were read and upon motion accepted as read with exception of grader tires from Dalcon which were not available so were ordered from Wholesale Tire and Supply Company instead.

Chain order from O’Connell was not accepted as County prices were alot cheaper. Motion and second to this effect.

Glenn Cook, Jim Michalik, David Cook, and Charlie Guski appeared.

There was much discussion concerning dump situation.

Motion made and second to g0 ahead and stump the road from Roy’s west 1 mile. Dalcon Construction to do the work with help of town loader and truck for $1300.00.

Motion made and second to hold a Special Town Meeting on Saturday September 22 at 8:00 p.m. at the Town of Washburn Town Hall for the purpose of deciding how to go with sanitary landfill. Request received in writing and is on file.

Meeting Minutes August 2, 1973

August 2, 1973

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. with all Board members and clerk present. Minutes were read and upon motion accepted as read.

Motion made and second to purchase four new rear tires for grader from Dalcon Construction Company at $115.00 @ delivered.

Decided to get Roffers to mix patch ridge. Also to get oil from Roffers if price is reasonable. Due to inability to get County to do work.

Charlie Guski and David Cook appeared concerning their bill and grader tires.

Ken Merila appeared concerning garbage pick-up. Discussion was held concerning dump situation. It was decided to call Spooner to get a DNR official to appear before the board for information.  Mr. Gary Leroy came August 9, 1973 with answers to all our questions.

Meeting Minutes June 28, 1973

June 28, 1973

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. with all members present. Minutes of June 2, 1973 were read and upon motion accepted as read.

Motion made and second to accept an agreement with the City of Washburn for fire protection for the Town of Washburn. Agreement is on file.

Motion made and second to approve an application from Mr. Wilke to build a new residence on his property located in the SE ¼ of the SW ¼ Sec. 1-48N-SW.

Anders Hokanson’s, Bernard Guski Leland Harvey were present for discussion held concerning dump situation.

Motion made and second to contact Tom Pox to arrange meeting with Wartman.

Meeting Minutes June 2, 1973

June 2, 1973

Meeting called to order at 1:00 p.m. with all board members present. Minutes of May 5, 1973 meeting were read and upon motion accepted as read.

Bids were opened on the brush saw with David Day offering $3.56 and Harry Flonnes offering $30.00.

Bids were opened on hand adding machine with Art Nelson offering $22.15.

Harry Flonnes and Art Nelson were awarded bids.

Motion made and second to join Wisconsin Town’s Association for one year.

Motion mađe and second to let Alonzo Harvey change from Metropolitan Health Insurance to Mid America.

Motion made and second to purchase a 2-way Model 1300 PRT McKenzie plow to fit the John Deere loader for $1995.00 plus old Wisconsin l-way plow in trade. Hitches to be extra.

Motion made and second to grant Betty McDonald a Class “B” Liquor License or Alcoholic Beverage License.
