Town of Washburn, Wisconsin Recycling and Garbage
The Bay Area Solid Waste District (BASWD) is a very successful enterprise. It sustains itself by selling specially marked plastic bags for waste and recycling materials and by receiving an annual grant from the state.
The site is open to all residents of the following Towns: Barksdale, Bayview, Eileen, Pilsen and Washburn.
The site is open every Saturday from 8 AM until 2 PM. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the site is also open each Wednesday from 3 PM to 7 PM. In the spring and in the fall, a special “Dumpster Day” is held for larger items with the exception of hazardous materials. Pricing on the Dumpster Days are estimated according to loads brought in, from smaller quantities to truck and trailer load quantities.
Current Prices for bags are:
• $40.00 for 10 garbage bags (30 gallon each)
• $30.00 for 10 recycling bags (30 gallon each)
• $15.00 for 10, ½-size recycling bags (15 gallon each)
Recycling of paper and cardboard is accepted at an additional cost, determined by quantities received.
Spring and Fall Dumpster Day Dates and Times:
• Spring Dumpster Day is on the Saturday of the weekend before Memorial Day each year, and the Spring schedule is from 8 AM to 4 PM.
• Fall Dumpster Day is the Saturday before the first full weekend in October, and the Fall schedule is from 8 AM to 2 PM.
