Meeting Minutes September 10, 2008
SEPTEMBER 10, 2008
Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M Present Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Bruce Hokanson, Philip E. Tetzner, and Donna Chapman. Also Mike Harvey, Ruth Hartzell, Ron Michael, Cathy Hoffman, Mark Morey, John Hoffman, Sam Sobtzak, Scott Bodin, Wendy Stein, ‘Ted May, and Tim Schwenzfeier.
Meeting notices were properly posted in three public places in the Town and published in the Daily Press.
Minutes of August 12, 2008 were read and written copies given to Board Members. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Kerry Tetzner to accept as read. Motion carried.
Donna gave Treasurer’s report. Commented on uncashed checks. Motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried.
Mike Harvey gave Crew report. Culvert on Nevers Road is in. Can maybe get road salt from C & W. Ready for some patch blacktop. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Bruce Hokanson to accept report. Motion carried.
Received request from Scott Bodin to build a house in Lot 8 Block 2 of Tetxtors addition in Sec 12-48-5. Some disagreement on driveway permit as rules had been changed.
Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Bruce Hokanson to grant request. Motion carried. All aye votes.
Cathy Hoffman, John Hoffman, and Sam Sobtzak gave report with graphs of the progress of controlling Leafy Spurge. General trend is decrease in Leafy Spurge. Chemical treatment scems to work best.
Ted May from Washburn School Board presented more information on proposed referendum requesting a funding increase from property taxes. The School Board would like to have the referendum on the November 2008 election. The Board thanked Ted May for his presentation.
Reviewed highway mileage verification report. Question on small mileage change from past years.
Reviewed blacktop patching. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Bruce Hokanson to spend $22,565.00 on patch blacktop. Motion carried. All aye votes.
Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to purchase road salt from C & W Trucking. Quote of $61.00 per ton delivered if possible. Motion carried. All aye votes.
Discussed snowplow policy request for plowing changes requested by Donna. Board says go ahead.
Motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to pay City of Washburn $43,926.56 for fire and ambulance service. A 6.6% increase. Motion carried. All aye votes.
Motion and a second to pay all current Town bills.
