Meeting Minutes May 9, 2000
MAY 9, 2000
Regular meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. Present Tetzner, Mihalek, Miller, Wyzlic, and Chapman. Also Brian Olson, Larry Maki, Gary Maki, Gary Morzenni of Northwoods Paving, and Ed Pajala.
Meeting notices were properly posted in three public places in the Town and published in the Daily Press.
Minutes of April 5, 2000 were read and written copies given to Board members. Motion by Miller and a second by Mihalek to accept. Motion carried.
Donna presented her report. Motion by Miller and a second by Mihalek to accept. Motion carried.
Gary Maki gave his crew report. Repairs needed for truck transmission, Kolberg Road repairs, shouldering Scholl Road, need for culverts, and installing Road signs when they come.
Received bids for Cold Mix: Northwoods Paving $26.56 Per ton / Angelo Lupino $23.38 per ton.
Motion by Miller and a second by Mihalek to accept Angelo Lupino’s bid. Motion carried.
Received gravel bids:
Ashland Construction $11.20 per yard
Common Trucking $13.10 per yard from Globe Pit
C & W Trucking $12.45 per yard from Globe Pit
Motion by Miller and a second by Mihalek to accept Ashland Construction bid with stipulation that gravel be from Globe Pit and Town residents can buy at same price and to be able to haul next week. Motion carried. If not possible, C & W gets the bid.
Reported that Signa Groves of C-Side Inn has applied for a Class B combination liquor license.
Received request from David A. Ekstrand to build in SW SW Sec 12-48-5. Motion by Miller and a second by Mihalek to table until next meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Mihalek and a second by Miller to grant Larry S. Maki a permit to place a mobile home on the SE NE SW Sec 33-49-5. Motion carried.
Set Board of Review date for Monday June 5 from 4 to 6 P.M. Open book June 5 from 2 to 4 P.M.
Shane read letter concerning how 5 acre parcels of Ag land are treated when sold for residential use. For assessed value.
Motion and a second to pay all current Town bills.
Dick Mihalek remarked on getting a larger Town Of Washburn sign for Town garage.
Motion and a second to adjourn.
