Meeting Minutes August 12, 2008

AUGUST 12, 2008

Special meeting called to order at 6:00 P.M. Purpose of meeting to consider Kurt Kiehne resigning as Town road supervisor. Aceepted resignation and will post job in Daily Press. Present Mark Morey, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Phil Tetzner, Kurt Kiehne, and Mike Harvey.

Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. Present Mark Morcy, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Philip Tetzner, and Donna Chapman. Also Kurt Kichne, Mike Harvey, Phil Freeman, Bruce Hokanson, Ted May, Tom Cogger, Joe Scholl, Wendy Stein, Peter Tetzner, Lea Landmann, and Scott Kluver.

Meeting notices were properly posted in three public places in the Town and published in the Daily Press.

Minutes of July 8, 2008 were read and written copies given to Board members. Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept. Motion carried. All aye votes.

Donna Chapman gave Treasurer’s report. Discussed old Gary Maki check. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Kerry Tetzner to accept report. Motion carried.

Kurt Kiehne gave Crew report. Lot of`work in barrens and mowing going good. Discussed priority for culverts and patch blacktop.

Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept Crew report. Motion carried.

Ted May, Washburn School Board Member, gave report on a probable referendum to raise more money for Washburn Schools. Amount is still undecided. They want referendum on November 2008 election.

City of Washburn administrator, Scott Kluver, proposing to stockpile septic sludge at old landfill site in SESW Sec 29-49-6. After Bourgo Pit was turned down.

Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by Mark Morey to deny City of Washburn request to store sludge in Town of Washburn. Motion carried. All aye votes.

Motion by Mark Morey and a second by John Hartzell to adopt resolution keeping Ashland Ag Station in public ownership and set priority to use it for local Ag research. Motion carried with two aye votes and one nay vote.

Received request for Peter Tetzner to build a home in S ½ SESE Sec 1-48-5. Motion by Mark Morey and a second by John Hartzell to approve request. Motion carried . All aye votes.

Phil Freeman explained the proposed closing of forest roads. None are current gas tax roads.

Motion and a second to pay all current Town bills.

Motion and a second to adjourn.
