Meeting Minutes August 10, 2004

AUGUST 10, 2004

Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. Present Kerry Tetzner, Mark Morey, Phil Tetzner, Tom Cogger and Donna Chapman. Also Gary Maki, Ed & Bea Pajala, Cathy Morey, Gary Morzenti, and Marv Nevala.

Meeting notices were posted in three public places in the Town and published in the Daily Press.

Minutes of July 13, 2004 were read and written copies given to Board Members. Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by Mark Morey to accept. Motion carried.

Donna Chapman gave her report. Motion by Mark Morey and a second by Tom Cogger to accept. Motion carried.

Gary gave his report. All big culverts are in that needed big backhoe. Lot of work in barren roads. Hove Lane work is coming along well. Break down on mower tractor and backhoe. Need new muffler on old truck. Will hold payment on backhoe cylinder repairs with further negotiations. Motion by Tom Cogger and a second by Kerry Tetzner to accept report. Motion carried.

Motion by Mark Morey and a second by Kerry Tetzner to approve driveway permit for Ken Ewer in Sec 2-48-5. Motion carried.

Reviewed Heidi Nevala’s request to build two houses on a five-acre lot. Lot 6 Block A Textor’s Addition Sec 12-48-5. Motion by Tom Cogger to grant request for one home and deny request for second home. Seconded by Mark Morey. All aye votes. Washburn Land Use Plan violation.

Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by Tom Cogger to approve Robert Aaron request to build a single-family house in SE NW Sec 21-49-5. Motion carried. 3 aye votes. Driveway is in.

Ed Pajala spoke again on blacktopping Pajala Road.

Opened wedging bids: Angelo Lupino $45.00/ton, Northwood’s Paving $36.32/ton. Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by Tom Cogger to accept Northwood’s bid. Motion carried. 3 aye votes.

Opened pulverizing bids on Old “C”. Angelo Lupino $8,242.00, Northwoods Paving $8,357.70. Motion by Tom Cogger and a second by Kerry Tetzner to accept Northwoods bid. All aye votes. Because of more efficiency and actual less overall cost to Town. Could start in two weeks.

Motion by Kerry Tetzner and a second by Mark Morey to approve propane contract with Midland for $.98 a gallon. 3500-gallon contract.

Discussed Salt Shed and Surveying site.

Motion and a second to pay all current Town bills.

Motion and a second to adjourn.
