Annual Meeting
April 8, 1978

Annual meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. Minutes of April 9, 1977 were read and there being no additions or corrections were approved as read. Town Audit Report was discussed.

Motion by Ed Pajala and second by Bill Slicer to approve audit report. Motion carried.

Bill Bromberg gave report on dog control ordinance and his experience as constable. Offered his services for coming year. Anders Hokanson also offered his services This is for bear hunting season and at no cost to town. Motion by Ila Bromberg and second by Joan Cook to town accept their offer. Motion carried. Ed Pajala brought up matter of Insurance for these two men. Town will look into.

Robert Grupstra brought subject of stray dogs and what to do about them There was much discussion. Glen Cook made motion and second by Anselle Hokanson to give constable power to handle each situation in the best way he can legally do. Motion carried.

Assessor situation was discussed. Harvey Rowe’s resignation was read. Motion by Bill Slicer and second by Robert  Grupstra to accept resignation and to send letter of thanks to Harvey Rowe.

Roads were discussed for blacktop. Engo Rd., one mile past Kluge’s and one mile on North end of Church Corner Rd.  were possible choices.

Motion by D. Slicer and second by Glen Cook to put $2000.00 in building fund. Motion carried.

Ila Bromberg explained County taking over some town roads, Long Lake Rd. to Federal Forest #236, Church Corner  Road, and Ondossagon Road. Long Lake Rd. has #1 priority.

Discussed bad corner at Long Lake Rd. and Church Corner Rd. Town board will look into it.

Discussed $131,000. Federal money on hand they received in lieu of taxes on Federal land. County Board hasn’t decided what to do with it.

Explained resolution prohibiting herbicide spraying on town right of ways and easements given to Power Co. and Phone Co.

Discussed snowplowing private driveways and possible not charging retired people.

George Berteau commented on bill #8505-8, aid to Elderly and Handicapped for transportation.

Discussed County Zoning ordinance.

Motion by Charlotte Michalik and second by Bill Slicer to have next annual meeting at 2:00 p.m., Sat. April 7 1979.

Meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by Chairman Calvin Schwenzfeier with Michalik, Flonnes and Tetzner present. Leland Harvey was also present. Minutes of March 2, 1978 were read and there being no additions or corrections were accepted as read.

Discussed cancellation of Workmen’s Comp. by Insurance Company. Received notice we could get this insurance through Wisconsin Comp. Rating Bureau.

Received resignation of Harvey Rowe as assessor. Motion and second to accept and place on file.

Received letter from A Van Berschot concerning a accident he had on Maple Hill Drive. Motion and second to place letter on file.

Motion and second to purchase New Holland mower for cutting roadsides from Lulich Implement for approximately $1300. 00. This money is to come from the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund.

Motion and second to pay all current town bills.

March 2, 1978

Meeting called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Chairman Calvin Schwenzfeier with Michalik, Flonnes and Tetzner present. Leland Harvey also was present. Minutes of Feb. 7, 1978 were read and there being no additions or corrections were accepted as read.

Harvey Rowe appeared stating he would possibly resign assessor position. No definite action was taken.

Discussed Telephone Company application for permit to construct transmission line in town. The board considered 1939 telephone contract null and void.

Discussed Anders Hokanson’s request to put a warning sign at Church Corner on Long Lake Road. Authorized Leland Harvey to look into this and also look into damaged signs.

Motion and second to give Greg Tetzner permission to build a residence on the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ Sec. 12-48-5.

Motion and second to suggest to Zoning Administrator to make mobile homes a conditional use in all zoning districts where dwellings are allowed and require Town Board approval. This is in response to a letter from Mr. Lee, Zoning Administrator.

Motion and second to pay all current town bills.

Feb. 7, 1978

The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Chairmar Schwenzfeier with Flonnes, Michalik, and Tetzner present. Leland Harvey was also present. Minutes of Jan. 5, 1978 were read and there being no additions or corrections were accepted as read.

Marshall Teschnar appeared concerning a high valuation placed on his house trailer. Board stated there was nothing they could do at this late date. Also protested a machine work bill he thought too high.

Discussed DNR inspection of Landfill Site.

Motion and second to have only five people at Feb. 21st Primary Election.

Motion and second to pay all current town bills.

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Calvin Schwenzfeier with Flonnes, Michalik and Tetzner present. Clara Nelson and Leland  Harvey were also present. Minutes of Dec. 1, 1977 were read and there being no additions or corrections were accepted as read.

Motion and second to adopt resolution bonding town treasurer for the sum of $753.7.00 the total of state and county taxes.

Discussed snowplowing in barrens and mileage plat of the town from the state.

Discussed property taxes comparing Ondossagon and Washburn districts.
