Town of Washburn Annual Meeting April 8, 2008

Annual Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Mark Morey.

Meeting notices were posted in three public places in the Town and published in the Daily Press.

Minutes of April 10, 2007 were read. Motion by Shirley Haugen and a second by Wendy Stein to accept minutes as read. Motion carried with all aye yotes.

Talked about alternative energy, wind, wood and solar.

Discussed past year projects, grants, Forest Crop withdrawal income, and loss of Gary Maki.

Passed roster for road cleanup in 2008.

Dale Brevak reported County “C” would be worked on this year, 2008.

John Hartzell reported on enzyme project on old “”C” Road. Trial project.

Mark Morey reported on 2008 projects. Culverts and blacktop patch.

Discussed assessor position. Motion by Ron Michael and a second by Richard Mihalek to change assessor elected position to appointed position. Motion carried with all aye votes. 17 ayes, no nay.

Reported on Leafy Spurge.

Motion and a second to have next Annual meeting on Tuesday after election at 7:00 P.M. Motion carried.

Read letter from Steve Bade giving Phil Tetzner a lot of credit as Clerk and Assessor. Also Bev Tetzner for backing Phil.

Motion and a second to adjourn.
