Special Meeting

Meeting called to order at 8:10 p.m. by chairman Calvin Schwenzfeier. Minutes of May 19, 1977 were read and there being no additions or corrections were accepted as read.

Chairman reported on trip to look at other machines with Robert Day, Bob Grupstra, Jim Michalik, Oscar Flonnes and Leland Harvey. Asked Robert Day to report first. Looked at Wabko, Gallion, and Cat. Oscar Flonnes, Bob Grupstra, Leland Harvey and Jim Michalik then reported.  Had Jim Stephenson, John Deere representative, answer questions as to CB system, electrical switch system and how long have they made articulate machines. They made articulate machines since 1969. Also offered a five year warranty on electrical system. Discussed financing, delivery time, warranty time, service time for repairs and engine repair. Motion by Albert Zifko and second by Oscar Flonnes to vote for either Cat 140 or John Deere 770 by ballot. Motion carried. Appointed Art Nelson and Glen Cook as ballot clerks. Cat – 12 John Deere – 14.

Motion by Jim Michalik and second by Leland Harvey to vote on whether to buy new John Deere or Demonstrator. Motion carried. New John Deere – 2 Demonstrator – 24.

Motion by Joan Cook and second by Bob Grupstra to give Calvin Schwenzfeier and board member authority to sign purchase order.

Motion and second to adjourn.
