Regular Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Steven Tetzner, Mike Harvey, Kathleen Russel, Wendy Stein, Joyce Zifko, Buz Raspotnik, Ron Rechel, Brenda Rechel, Shane Boettcher and Donna Chapman.
Meeting notices were properly posted in the three public places and published in the Daily Press.
Meeting minutes from the January 17, 2017 meeting were read and written copies given to the Board Members. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by StevenTetzner to accept as presented. Motion carried. All Ayes.
Donna gave Treasurer’s report. All books are balanced. Property taxes are paid. Motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All Ayes.
Mike Harvey gave crew report. There were problems with the new plow truck, some sensors were not working properly. The truck was brought to Manney in Duluth for repair under warranty. The grader and the old plow truck were serviced. Everything else is fine. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to accept report. Motion carried. All Ayes.
There was no plan commission this month.
There was an update on the logging. All the grinding of the tree tops are done. All but the fire wood has been trucked out. Buz will continue cutting the larger trees at his own pace. The Town will be paid when all the paper work from the truckers has been turned in.
There will be a meeting at the Great Lakes Visitor center on March 8, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. on the National Forestry working with the Towns.
A discussion on the front end loader. It is 28 years old and in a failing condition and would have a major overhaul to fix it. There were two bids on demo front end loaders.
The first is a Cat 930K, 2014, 653 hours with a wing plow for $173,187.00 with a trade in of $17,000.00 on the old one and a 5 month warranty for a total of $156,187.00.
The second bid John Deere 544K, 2015, 267 hours with wing plow for $165,000.00 with a trade in of $26,000.00 on the old one and a 7 year 4000 hours warranty for a total of $138,500.00 and a 2.95% finance loan.
Chippewa Valley will have a 2.75% rate for a five year loan.
A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to purchase the 2015 John Deere front end loader for $138,500.00 and finance it through Chippewa Valley Bank. Motion carried. All Ayes.
A motion and a second to pay all current bills.
