Meeting Minutes June 3, 1997

JUNE 3, 1997

Regular Board meeting called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman Miller. Present Miller, Mihalek, Wyzlik, and Tetzner. Also Leland Harvey, Brian Harvey and Ed Pajala.

Meeting notices were properly posted in the Daily Press and three public places in the Town.

Minutes of May 6, 1997 were read and written copies given to Board Members. Motion by Mihalek and a second by Wyzlik to accept. Motion carried.

Chairman Miller explained purpose of closed session.

Motion by Wyzlik and a second by Mihalek to go ınto closed session. Roll call vote Wyzlik – Yes, Mihalek – Yes, Miller – Yes. Motion carried. Ed Pajala left.

Chairman Miller reported on events leading up to this closed session meeting for personal matters concerning Brian Harvey. Copies on file. Mainly, evidence of driving Town truck without license.

Brian Harvey presented evidence he could have a C.D.L. License tomorrow, June 4,1997.

Chairman Miller made a recommendation based on evidence presented that Brian Harvey’s employment be terminated. Motion by Mihalek and a second by Wyzlik that Brian Harvey’s employment be terminated. Motion carried. Brian Harvey drove away from meeting throwing rocks with pickup truck and no drivers license.

Motion by Mihalek and a second by Wyzlik that closed session be closed and Town Board go into open session. Motion carried unanimously.

Open session called to order at 7:25 P.M. Present Miller, Wyzlik, Mihalek, Tetzner, and Chapman. Also present Ed Pajala, Don Haugen, Bob Mattson, Bob Brander, Bill Mihalek, Dave Cook and Johanna Mihalek.

Chairman Miller reported Board’s decision to people present that Brian Harvey’s employment with Town was terminated.

Donna Chapman presented Treasurer’s report. Motion by Mihalek and a second by Wyzlik to accept. Motion carried.

Bob Mattson reported new blacktop on Maple Hill and Church Corner Road needs gravel shouldering. Also sand on Maple Hill Drive and Church Corner Road comers causing cars to slide when stopping. Discussed poor upkeep and maintenance of Town garage. Also the Town giving some help to City of Washburn for their new playground that Town of Washburn children use. Other issues, maintenance on new grader, maintenance on 1/4 mile of Town of Bayview Road on Road #697 and claiming County Bridge Aid on culvert on Paulson Road.

Bob Brander explained Potters Farm and coming Court case.

Motion by Mihalek and a second by Wyzlik to renew Signa Groves combination B Liquor License for C-Side Inn. Motion carried.

Received request fiom Gary Maki to build a residence in a Forestry District in NE SW Sec 33-49-5. Motion by Wyzlik and a second by Mihalek to grant request for residence. Motion carried with no approval for any business activity.

Motion by Wyzlik and a second by Mihalek to approve propane contract with Midland for $.68 per gallon for 4,000 gallons. Motion carried.

Set road inspection for 4:00 P.M. June 16, 1997.

Motion and a second to pay all current Town bills.

Motion and a second to adjourn.
