Regular Board meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Steven Tetzner, Donna Chapman, Mike Harvey, Gary Morzenti, Kim Bro, Joshua Swan, and Michelle McCumber.
Meeting notices were properly posted in the three public places and published in the Daily Press.
Meeting minutes from the July 12, 2011 meeting were read and written copies given to the Board members. A motion by John Hartzell and a second by Steven Tetzner to accept as presented. Motion carried. All ayes.
Donna gave Treasurer’s report. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.
Mike Harvey gave crew report. The steering box for the five ton is fixed. The deck on the mower tractor has been fixed. Damage report from the August 2, 2011 storm have been taken and will be turned into Jan Victorson. About $9473.00 damage on the Town Roads and about $5244.00 damage on the Forest Roads was reported due mainly from fallen trees and wash outs. There is a possible oil leak on the front end loader. Culvert on Brevak Road is in need of repair, with weight limit signs going up until repaired. Mike will put up signs for traffic control for the Wannebo culvert repair and Ashland Construction will put ad in paper for road being closed. Mike will check into underground wire location. A motion by John Hartzell and a second by Steven Tetzner to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.
Chairman Bruce Hokanson noted that the bids for the Wannebo culvert project were opened on July 28, 2011. Two bids were received, Ashland Construction, $14,515.00 and Ken and Dale Excavating, $16,150.00, with Ashland Construction receiving the bid. The Bayfield county Conservation Dept. will pay $14,470.38, The DNR will pay $3483.61 and the Town will pay $8,843.01 of the project costs.
Discussion on Joshua Swans request for a conditional use permit for a woodworking shop at 28430 Engoe Road, E ½ SE ¼ SW ¼ Section 10, T 48N, R 5W. The driveway is in and properly permitted and Josh has a privy use permit. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept conditional use permit for Joshua Swan. Motion carried. All ayes.
Bids were opened for wedging on Church Corner Road. Two bids were received, Northwoods Paving for $52,648.60 or 780 tons, and Angelo Luppino for $57,675.00, $76.90/ton for 750 tons. A motion made by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept the bid from Northwoods paving. Northwoods paving will also pave on Wannebo, by Lealand Harveys place with total amount not to exceed $60,000.00.
John Hartzell will get a bid from Farhner for crack sealing on 236, Scholl Road, and the parking lot by Town Hall. John will also check in with Jan Victorson for setting up the wide band to narrow band for the radio system. Motion carried. All ayes.
A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to buy 3500 gallons of propane at $1.80 a gallon for $6300.00 from Midland on the early prepay offer. Motion carried, all ayes.
Michelle McCumber is continuing work on the Town web page. She will be looking into getting internet hooked up to the Towns Clerk computer.
