Meeting Minutes August 8, 2017

Regular Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Mike Harvey, Donna Chapman, Ron Rechel, Scott Sturgeon, Wendy Stein and Joyce Zifko.
Meeting notices were properly posted in the three public places and published in the Daily Press.
Roll call was taken and all were present except Steven Tetzner.
Public comment took place.
Meeting minutes from the July 11, 2017 meeting were read and written copies given to the Board Members. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Bruce Hokanson to accept as presented. Motion carried. All Ayes.
Donna gave Treasurers report. All books are balanced. All snow plow bills have been paid except two. A motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All Ayes.
Mike Harvey gave crew report. The new mower is on tractor and working fine. Lupino Construction put a road band on the Ondossagon, Wannebo and Church Corner Roads because of hauling fill from Barksdale to the Faulkner Pit. One load of cold mix was delivered. A motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to buy new broom bristles for around $1000.00 with freight included. Motion carried. All Ayes. They will be screening sand next week for around $3500.00 which should be good for four to five years. Church Corner Road ruts have been filled. A motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to accept the report. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
There was no plan commission meeting this month.
Chip Seal bids were opened. A motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to accept the bid from Scott Construction for the bids on Engoe Road, Ondossagon Road and Paulson Road with patching spots for $38,146.00. Motion carried. All Ayes.
Scott Construction will honor the bid for South Maple Hill and Wannebo road, one mile each for $16,729.00 for 2018. Wedging prices were to be decided and will hear this at the next meeting.
Gravel bids were opened for gravel on FR 697. A motion by Bruce Hokanson and a second by John Hartzell to accept South Shore Sand and Gravel bid for 2812 tons to be spread on FR 697, from the Peterson pit for $16.44 a ton for a total of $46,229.28. $25,000.00 will come from a grant from the USDA.
The Broad Band may start being put in place September.
