April 10, 2012 Annual Meeting called to order by Chairman Bruce Hokanson. Meeting notices were
posted in the three public places in the Town and published in the Daily Press.

Minutes of the April 12, 2011 were read. Motion by Ron Micheal and a second by Mike Harvey to accept
minutes as read. Motion carried.

Chairman Bruce Hokanson talked about the traffic counter on Church Corner Road with an average of
270 vehicles per day traveling on it. Also about the Bike Tour to be held on June 24th with about 500
bikers and using the Town Hall as a rest stop. Some projects for this summer include Church Corner
Road paving and replacing the culvert on Brevak Road, plus the hauling of gravel and crushed black top.

Ron Micheal asked about the nob on County C and what could be done with it. The County is planning
work on C in 2013 and the Board would look into this.

Kim Bro asked about payment in lieu of taxes and how this worked. He also asked about how the bill is
figured out for Fire and Ambulance charges.

Motion made to have the next Annual Meeting on the second Tuesday after the election, April 16, 2013.

Special Board meeting called to order at 5:00 P.M.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Steven Tetzner , Phil Freeman, Wendy Stein, Ruth Hartzell, Andrea Hokanson, Jeff Pennucci, Jim Deeth, Teri Bahe, Joe Scholl, Dorothy Scholl, Shirley Haugen, Dale Brevak, Joe Grosek, Ron Micheal, Bill Route, Patsy Tetzner, Becky Bro, Paul Haugen, Ken Carlson, Jan Carlson,Karen Kozie, Ken Bro and Kathleen Russell.

Bruce Hokanson opened up discussion  on the purchase of the property at SW ¼ NE ¼  S35T 49N R5W.

Jeff Pennucci from the DNR spoke on the way the process  worked on purchasing property for the DNR. The property would remain on the tax role. The price of the property was set by the DNR’s Appraiser based on the sale of five other similar properties in the area. He also stated that they only purchase property from a willing seller and that they do not go out and try to find property to buy. They have areas that they would like to purchase for the preservation of these properties.

One of the major concerns was the upkeep of the property after the purchase. Jeff said that the DNR was working on this but suggested to write a letter to the DNR about our concerns.

Kim Bro was going to take the task up to write the letter and get a copy to Bruce Hokanson to sign.

March 19, 2012

Special Board meeting called to order at 5:00 P.M.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Steven Tetzner , Phil Freeman, Wendy Stein, Ros Nelson, Ron Micheal, Karen Kozie, Ken Bro and Kathleen Russell.

Meeting notices were properly posted in the three public places and published in the Daily Press.

Bruce Hokanson talked about the resolution opposing the DNR’s plan to acquire 40 acres at the SW1/4 NE1/4 T49N R5W S35, because of the property being taken off the property tax roll and the amount for the purchase of the property. He felt that it was high compared to the amount appraised by the Town.

Kim Bro and others talked about the purchase of the property by the DNR for the protection of the property because of the sensitive soil area. It was also discussed that it was in the Comprehensive Plan for the protection of such areas.

It was decided that more information was needed before a decision could be reached and the matter was tabled until March27, 2012.

Regular Board meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Steven Tetzner, Donna Chapman, Mike Harvey, Donald Haugen, Dale Brevak, Ron Micheal and James Deeth.

Meeting notices were properly posted in the three public places and published in the Daily Press.

Meeting minutes from the February 14, 2012 meeting were read and written copies given to the Board members. A motion by John Hartzell and a second by Steven Tetzner to accept as presented. Motion carried. All ayes.

Donna gave Treasurer’s report.  A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.

Mike Harvey gave crew report. Everything is going fine in Town. Two culverts were frozen. Salt shed has about ¼ left of salt sand mix. Mike gave prices on rear fenders for the grader, ranging between $600.00 to $1000.00. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried, all ayes.

There was a plan commission meeting on March 6. John Hartzell will remain on the Board and Ron Micheal is getting off the Board. The Chairman will appoint someone in the next two weeks.

There was a discussion on the purchase of 40 acres SWNE35 T49N R5W of land next to Jim Deeth from the DNR for $146,000.00. John Hartzell read a letter from Ron Micheal against the sale of the property. It was decided to contact the Town Lawyer, Jack Carlson, to write up a resolution against the sale to be sent to the DNR because of the amount being paid for the property and that the DNR will not be paying the full amount for property taxes on the parcel.  A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to contact the Lawyer to write up the resolution. Motion carried, all ayes.

Bruce will check into placing salt order with the County.

Mike Harvey gave crew report. Mike talked about pricing on a new Town plow truck. There is concern on  pulp trucks going down Wannebo Road with the unusually warm winter as to damage to the road. Mike will order plow blades for the plow truck, Boss plow and grader for $2458.12 from US Blade and Chain. For the John Deere front end loader, he will order the cutting edge from Nortrax for $440.00. They are cutting brush in the Barrens. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.

There was a discussion on Church Corner Road wedging and possible ways to fix it.

There was a discussion on replacing Ron Micheals on the Plan Commission, as he felt he could no longer be on the Board.

There was a discussion on Bayfield County Zoning. This was tabled for more information.

Mike Harvey gave crew report. He talked about prices on a RD spreader, $32942.00, Plow truck plow, $10,139.00 and a post on wing for $5219.00. They will continue cutting brush along the roads, with everything else going well. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.

A discussion on projects this year were, Church Corner Road-chip sealing and fixing wedging, Culvert on Brevak Road, crushed gravel and crushed black top on Bjork Road.
