Regular Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.. Present: Bruce Hokanson, Kerry Tetzner, John Hartzell, Steven Tetzner and Donna Chapman.

Meeting notices were properly posted in the three public places and published in the Daily Press.

Meeting minutes from the March 12, 2013 meeting were read and written copies given to the Board Members. Motion by John Hartzell and a second by Steven Tetzner to accept as presented. Motion carried.

Donna gave Treasurer’s report. Motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.

Mike Harvey gave crew report. Mike has made up a cost for plowing bill for the Town of Barksdale. He will tweak it some more and discuss it at the next meeting. Mike will purchase a 5 gallon barrel of Injector cleaner for the equipment at a cost of $275.00. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to purchase culverts from PK Products for $9680.00. Motion carried. All ayes. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to hire C & W for screening salt sand at $180.00 an hour for screener and loader for $100.00 an hour plus a fee of $100.00 for pickup and delivery for a total cost of about $3000.00 to $35.00.00. Motion carried. All ayes.

The Plan Commission met on April 4th.Xcel Energy Greenfield Right of Way was discussed for an alternate route for a power line following along Church Corner Road. They felt that this was an inappropriate place for it and suggested to have it in the National forest. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to send a letter to Excel Energy Greenfield Right of Way against this purposed alternate route. Motion carried. All ayes.

Bruce Hokanson reappointed Dale Brevak to a one year term and Kim Bro and Bruce Hokanson to a three year term on the Plan Commission.

Donna gave Treasurer’s report. There was talk on adding a fee for any Bank charges on bounced checks of $30.00.This subject has been tabled for more information. Motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All ayes.

There was no plan Commission meeting this month.

Mike Harvey gave crew report. An update for the maintenance for Town of Barksdale roads was given with more information coming. Mike will organize and itemize the bill as per discussed with the Town of Barksdale. Mike is checking into screening sand for the salt sand mix. Hydraulic oil is needed and will be ordered. Inventory is being done on the culverts, and pricing on replacements for this summer projects. A motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report. Motion carried. All Ayes.

Michelle McCumber spoke on the Web site. She will meet with John to update the site. There were 1179 hits for the web site page for the last six weeks with about 1100 of them from China.

Landscape Creations & Wreath Company sent a new contract for the lawn mowing of the Town Hall for 2013. The price is $60.00 per mowing. A motion by John Hartzell and a second by Steven Tetzner to accept the bid from Landscape Creations & Wreath Company fkor $60.00 per mowing. Motion carried. All ayes.

Alder Engineering on building codes and grading schedule was discussed with the possibility of lower insurance rates because of updated buildings. This will be discussed with Rural Insurance with a meeting in April.
Weight limits will be posted on March 18, 2013.

Some discussion on road work on Paulson road this summer.

Bruce will talk to Eric Lynch for a meeting with the Town Board.

A motion by Steven Tezner and a second by Bruce Hokanson to adopt the Ordinace to Extend Town Officer Terms for one week in response to election law changes. Motion carried. All ayes.

Bruce Hokanson gave road crew report. There are two broken windows in the Town garage from frost heaves. Mike will replace the panes. Lots of snow being plowed and roads are in good shape. Well done. Some talk on replacing plow truck in next few years and some work on front end loader may be needed. Motion by Steven Tetzner and a second by John Hartzell to accept report.

Motion carried. All ayes.

There was no plan Commission meeting this month.

Mike Harvey gave crew report. They have been working on the 5 ton dump truck, plow has sprung but in good working condition and salt sand spreader is being fixed. All roads are in good winter condition, not much snow. Front end loader needs some work done on plow. A motion by John Hartzell and a second by Steven Tetzner to accept report. Motion carried, all ayes.

Scottie Sandstrom gave a presentation on what the Bayfield County Economic Development Corp. has been doing in regards of attracting new businesses into the area.

An on going discussion on the Paulson Road project of an overlay, with some ideas on how to fix the road.

A check should be coming on the Brevak culvert project from the County for 52000.00.

There was some talk on the VCY America Inc. Tower. They want to be tax exempt on some of the property. They are now paying property taxes on 15 acres with 5 acres not being taxed, The subject was tabled for more information.
